"I remember when I applied to medical school as an undergraduate, I thought I had a pretty good idea about what I was facing. I had read all the books, talked with a lot of doctors and watched all the TV specials.
"But now, as a cardiologist who went through 14 years of education, I realize that I really had no idea of what I was doing back then, and that most of my classmates were in the same boat.
"I feel very fortunate to have 'stumbled' my way upon the right career choice for me. Unfortunately, I have seen a number of my friends who were not so lucky. They not only ended up miserable after medical school; they were $60-100,000 in debt after med. school expenses. And I think the most discouraging thing of all, is that these people feel they wasted some of the best years of their lives.
"That's why I created the RTS Career Center and the course, 'AN INSIDE LOOK.' After working with hundreds of students, we quickly learned how important this experience was to so many people. At a time when the medical profession badly needs qualified nurses, physician's assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists and pharmacists, we also thought it was important to offer the course, 'So you want to be a health professional.'
"Never before has anyone offered experiences like these. My one goal is to offer invaluable information so you can make the right decision for you.
"The medical profession definitely needs good doctors and health professionals--people who have made the right career choices and have entered the field with their eyes open."
